GO! Campus Prins Kavellei

Three GO! schools are being brought together on the campus on Prins Kavellei in Brasschaat: the Technisch Atheneum, SBSO Zonnebos and Freinetschool Toverbos.

The project involves the construction of two new school buildings with a total floor area of 5,000 m². A new building for the Technisch Atheneum and SBSO Zonnebos will house learning zones, learning plazas, administrative areas, support rooms and specialist classrooms. In addition, a separate building is being constructed for the Freinet School Toverbos, with teaching spaces tailored to the Freinet pedagogy. A multi-purpose sports hall is also being provided, which can be shared by the various schools.

The new buildings will be compactly situated between the existing sports facilities, the workshop and the car park. This will preserve as much open space and greenery on the campus as possible. The outdoor area will be landscaped with playgrounds, outdoor sports areas, a cycle shed, a staff car park, a short-stay car park, a ‘kiss and ride’ zone and a bus stop.

To make way for the new buildings, the outdated container classrooms will be demolished. The current school will remain operational throughout the entire construction period.
