The current ZAVO campus on Groenstraat, located in the centre of the municipality, is one of three campuses offering secondary education. This campus consists of four blocks, all of which date from before 1982 and have remained virtually unchanged since then. Two of the four blocks will be demolished and replaced by three new blocks within the DBFM programme. The school itself will provide a fourth new building. The landscaping is a separate proposal, which may or may not be fully linked to the future DBFM construction programme.

The DBFM new-build project plans for each block to have a basement level, a ground floor and three additional floors where possible and to be determined in consultation with the municipality and in accordance with building regulations. We are opting for a maximally functional building complex with a clear and well-thought-out layout that makes efficient use of the available space to optimally meet the needs of the users, namely the students and teachers. In this context, footbridges might be a useful element when building in different blocks.

The new buildings will have a new sports hall for ball sports, a multipurpose room for dance, rhythm and martial arts, and a room for bouldering. In addition, we are also planning a covered area where pupils can hide out during bad weather and a new refectory. There will also be multipurpose classrooms, workspaces and facilities for after-school activities. Finally, the future buildings must meet the current requirements for Accessibility of Public Buildings.
